Helen Chung

Helen Chung is a multimedia artist based in Los Angeles. Her work ranges from sculptures, paintings, and photography to—in the past three years—figurative paintings that document Los Angeles’ art community. Her work plays with the ideas of leveling some of our learned biases; inside and out, front and back, painting or sculpture…, while experimenting with each medium’s materiality itself. Expounding on ideas from popular culture, literature, science, and found objects, her voice draws from her early career as an international shoe and accessory designer.
