Rachid Bouhamidi

I was born and raised in southern California and graduated with a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and MFA from Boston University in fine arts. In my work, I attempt to integrate the two distinct formal languages of figurative and abstract painting, while simultaneously considering certain aesthetic ideas of design from North Africa (specifically Morocco). My practice often involves the creation of sculptural and architectural spaces.
