Jacobine van der Meer
Exploring her inner and outer worlds, Jacobine van der Meer creates visual narratives through interrelated theatrical installations, sculptures, drawings, collages and video. Of recurring interest is the juxtaposition of the artificial and the natural.
Originally from The Netherlands Jacobine moved to California in 1998 dividing her time between Los Angeles and the Mojave Desert. Recently she made the desert her full-time home and workplace.
Jacobine has had solo exhibitions in Dallas, Los Angeles and Joshua Tree and her work is represented in private collections in The United States and Europe.
