A new book by the Swiss-Canadian artist Rudolf Stüssi is set for publication by the reputable Swiss publisher Benteli in the fall of 2024. Berlin Bent contains more than 100 reproductions of the finest of his paintings of the German capital, created over a space of more than 30 years.

They are ‘bent’ due to a unique perspective, the 5th Perspective, invented by the artist, that allows buildings and interiors to sway and dance, unlike anything ever imagined by most. This atmospheric movement enlivens everything, it is humourous, but also points to the instability of our world.

In addition, the pictures are accompanied by some 20 stories of the artist’s peculiar experiences in Berlin, from scuba divers on Potsdamer Platz to George Clooney to competing with the World Soccer Championship.

Rudolf Stüssi is an internationally known, prizewinning painter, who is particularly active and represented by galleries in Canada, the US, Switzerland, Austria, and Berlin. This is his 7th book. He is a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of the Arts (RCA), Visarte (Switzerland), the Künstlersonderbund of Germany, and he is also a past president and life member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour (CSPWC). Hundreds of articles on his work have appeared in journals on two continents.

The Book

The book is published bilingually in German and English, it has 144 pages and is 6.7 x 9 inches in size, the retail price is 25 euros.
